There’s a dude on the Spice Vids Gay front page who I swear looks a lot like John Mayer. Now I’ve got “Your Body Is a Wonderland” running through my head as I type up this review. Honestly, though, I think a lot of you might start hearing the lyrics and melody in your head even if you don’t see the resemblance. It’s a sexy song about sex and sexy bodies, and well, that really fits the whole theme of the site. I’m not sure he's singing about other dudes, but you probably are.

It's pretty clear from the title what kind of smut SpiceVidsGay.com is peddling: they’ve got vids that are both spicy and gay. More specifically, they’re a paysite offering gay dirty movies from a ton of major studios. I’ve reviewed the straight version of the site over at ThePornDude and I liked what I saw, so today seemed like a good day to check out their queer offerings. They’ve steadily been building traffic since their launch at the tail end of 2022, which suggests some truly wankworthy films in the archive. Let’s take a closer look and make sure, shall we?

Getting Gay with Spice Vids Gay

I’ll be honest, I know my female pornstars a lot better than I know my male pornstars. If you’ve seen my work over at PornDudeCasting, you already know why, as I’ve only been banging the lovely ladies. After I started writing this review, I fell down the Google rabbit hole trying to find out the name of that John Mayer-looking dude out front at Spice Vids Gay. I couldn’t figure it out, but I did learn that Mayer’s favorite gay pornstar is Brent Corrigan.

Even before digging into the site’s archive, I got the feeling Brent could be found inside. How do I know? It’s a numbers game, honestly. I know he’s a popular stud, working with the big brands, and I know that SpiceVidsGay offers content from thousands of the world’s most popular studios. That’s according to their tour page, where they go on to list a handful of them. Men.com, RealityDudes, Czech Hunter, Bromo, Dirty Scout, Sean Cody and Str8Chaser are just a handful.

While the big studios do shoot flicks with up-and-cumming newbies and rising amateurs, they ain’t hiring any ugly ol’ rando they find sucking cock at the local truck stop glory whole. Nah, good porn requires good actors, so that’s what you’ll find on the platform.

They list some of those dudes out front, and it’s a nice, wide range of gay porn actors. What’s your flavor of choice? Is it twinks, bears, muscle men, daddies or BBC-slanging black dudes? They’re all here, my cock-loving friends. Dante Colle, Cade Maddox, Armond Rizzo and Colby Jansen are just a few of the names big enough to get front-page billing on Spice Vids Gay, but the full menu runs much, much deeper.

Free Peeks That Come with a Catch

As impressive as the tour page is as far as what they hint at, they could do better about giving potential users a free peek at what’s actually inside. It took some poking around to find a list of all the studios included. If you’re curious, click the Porn Directory link in the SpiceVidsGay footer. That’ll bring up a menu of brands, each of which unfolds into a longer menu of vids. That’s where the real previews are hidden, in the form of short, silent montages from each flick.

Fortunately, there are some more freebies to be seen. Unfortunately, they do come with a catch, as you’ve probably already guessed. SpiceVidsGay.com offers a free week of dirty movies to new users. If you’ve ever signed up for a free trial membership anywhere, you already know the drill. You either have to cancel that subscription before it’s over, or you’ll be automatically billed for a full membership.

There is a silver lining, though. The regular price is about half what you’d pay for almost any other paysite out there. It’s only fifteen bucks a month after the trial, or you can get a yearly rate that breaks down to about $12 a month. You do have to offer up your credit card digits in advance, so be prepared to either cancel or pay up. Personally, my strategy is always to set a reminder on my phone to reconsider anything I’m demoing for free or at a reduced rate.

What they fail to mention out front is that a ton of the content on Spice Vids Gay costs extra money. Once I signed up for the trial, I was shuffled along to a member’s page without much to see. The sections for Top Rated Videos and Trending Videos just contain a message that says “No results found”. There are a couple thumbnails with padlock icons leading to scenes I can’t watch, and the scenes without padlocks just bring me to a page that says “Sorry. We can’t seem to find the page you’re looking for.” What the fuck?

In the Store section, I found an extensive list of studios with content available on Spice Vids Gay. The prices are all over the place. BiEmpire will run you $24.99 per month, while Bear Channel offers their flicks for a one-time fee of twenty bones, valid for 25 years. I don’t think this business model is inherently shitty, but I’m kind of pissed they didn’t tell me everything was going to be locked before taking my credit card number.

Can I See Some Gay Vids, Please?

The dropdown menu in the member’s area of SpiceVidsGay.com offers two video sections, Top Rated and Trending. Clicking through, each link sent me to the same page of Latest Locked Videos that I couldn’t watch. The Library menu in the same area looked impressive, but again, it was just an extensive list of locked studios, none of which were included in the trial.

The Categories menu looked similarly appetizing for a few seconds, offering a wide selection of gay porn subgenres. Twink, Bareback, Straight Guy and Daddy categories were briefly visible before disappearing from the screen, replaced with—you guessed it—another spread of the Latest Locked Videos. I know the site is new, but the interface issues are a bitch on top of all the locked content.

At various points during my tour, I clicked on links or Play buttons that did nothing. Even when I was trying to sign up, I had to submit my email address multiple times before the page accepted it. I even turned off my adblocker, since that can sometimes be the root of these troubles. Still, the issues persisted. Visually, SpiceVidsGay looks a lot like SpiceVids, but I didn’t run into the same navigational bugs on the straight site.

I clicked on one of the banners sliding by the top of the main member’s page. It’s a GayWire scene starring Bo Dean, and doesn’t have any padlock icons anywhere. No matter what I did, though, the Play button wouldn’t make the movie start. I can’t say if it's because the movie is locked, unincluded in my trial, or if it’s just another issue with the site design. Whatever the case, it's frustrating. As far as I can tell, the trial doesn’t let you watch a single video.

I went through the account cancelation process and got a message saying I still had access to all the same stuff until my trial was up. I’d be more concerned if the trial contained literally anything at all.

SpiceVidsGay.com seems like a promising site, with an extensive, wide-ranging menu of gay pornography from some of the biggest studios out there. Hell, you’ve probably cranked it to content from a lot of the included brands. The problem is that the site just doesn’t seem like it’s ready for primetime.

Even if you’re fine with the upcharges for everything, the interface was basically broken in a lot of places, which is going to be especially obnoxious if you’re paying full price for everything. The trial does give you a chance to poke around a bit with no risk, though, so keep your eye on this one. Hopefully, they improve the service to make it on par with the straight version of SpiceVids.
