Let’s get the design out of the way

Now, the first thing that anyone will notice about this site is that the design is fucking horrendous, there is almost nothing good about it. The background is a fucking bland default grey color, and all you see is a giant wall of text on the homepage. I do understand that the site is all about stories, but some fucking images or colors would be nice...not this basic bitch shit with a little bit of bold and highlight editing.

Anyway, I do understand that the site is quite old, in fact, it has been around for more than twenty years, but the text on the homepage is quite strange as it tells you to seek a psychologist or get a life if you want to try something that is written in the stories. While I do understand that it is indicated towards the mind-control stories which are like 90% of the content, what about the other 10% where some stories are based on some very believable scenarios that have probably been experienced by the writer?

After you click on anything besides the “MC Forum” and “The Garden of MC”, you will be taken to a slightly better layout of the site, which still looks like a piece of shit, but still better than the homepage. The first tab you will see are new additions, and there you will be able to find posts about new stories that have been submitted every week.

An interesting thing about this section that I have discovered, is that you can go all the way back to 1996 when it comes to new additions, and as you do, the design of the site will change dramatically, and not for the better. After you go back to 2012, that shitty grey background that I mentioned will look like heaven to you, because it gets replaced by an ultra-bright green color that looks like someone puked out a glow stick. This background seriously hurts your eyes, and the worst part is it stays like that until 1996.

The content definitely redeems the design

Of course, because the site is incredibly old, and it is a passionate project started by a single person, which still leads the site, it is not a surprise that the design is as minimal as it can get. Once you enter the section with titles or categories, you will forget all about the design, as you find yourself with an insane amount of outstanding content.

While the majority of the stories is based on mind-control, I already said that there are various titles that covered other themes. Naturally, while there are all kinds of stories with a regular guy on girl fantasies, I was most interested in guy on guy action, and the “mm” category, which in this case stands male on male, definitely delivered.

Speaking of categories, I enjoyed the fact that the titles have a different highlight based on the genre they are covered. For example, mm is cyan, ff is red, and purple stands for a story that includes multiple or unspecified sexualities. This is quite an intriguing way to filter the content, especially if you are looking at the newest editions as the tags there usually blend with the description.

At the time of this review, there were over a thousand stories in the mm category, and in case that seems like a very small number, you will probably be surprised by the length of a couple of them. While I didn’t go through them all, the biggest story I have found was over 140 parts, which was about 150 000 words. That is around 300 pages, which is absolutely incredible considering it was completely free.

Because all of the stories are hand-picked by a guy who runs the site, all of the content will be of the finest quality only, as it has to pass some general rules that he has established. Of course, the writers who do get their work picked get their website featured under their titles, as well as any other information they would like to share.

Naturally, what that means is that you too can share your story if you have a passion for writing, but you will have to meet all of the criteria. It is a really nice feature that the site offers, as it allows everyone to get some feedback and improve as a writer, so more amazing content can be created.

Earlier when I said how the site is quite outdated when it comes to its looks, once you start reading the stories, the design suddenly becomes amazing, as it allows you to have a complete immersion, especially if you are reading stories on a tablet, where it does make it feel like a modern book in some way or another.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading some of the gay stories, and I definitely enjoyed a couple of them more than certain porn videos. Reading the text that offers mesmerizing descriptions gives you that great feeling where your imagination does all the kinky work in the most perfect way possible, allowing you to visualize the scenario in the way that turns you on the most, which is fantastic.

The filtering and tracking your read could use a lot of work

One of the things that I really disliked on this site, is that you cannot look for a specific kind of content, besides the few tags that it offers. I was happy that I was able to select stories that involved gay action only, but some of the stories felt quite generic, and they didn’t feel too exciting as they revolved more around romance and softcore action instead of hardcore shagging with some dirty descriptions that I personally enjoy.

I read quite a good bunch of stories before I decided to review this site, and there weren’t that many which were disappointing, but some additional filtering could be added for a better experience. Another thing that could improve the user experience is some kind of tracking to mark where you stopped your reading session, as chapters don’t necessarily have a fixed limit that will allow an easy read.

Upon opening a chapter which was around twelve thousand words long, something came up and I couldn’t finish the story. This made me copy the whole text somewhere else, just so I could mark where I stopped. Another place where this might be an issue is the page where you browse through titles, as there is only a single long page that you can scroll through, featuring over a thousand titles that you cannot keep track of in any way, at least not on the site.

Discussing the stories on the forums

Earlier I mentioned two links that will not take you to a better layout, and that is because they are going to redirect you to different sites, which are essentially forums that focus on bringing both writers and the readers together from the main site. Registering on both sites is completely free, and you can join the discussion or ask for some suggestions if you are looking for a story similar to the one you enjoyed. You will usually get an answer surprisingly fast, as the community is quite active and passionate.
