Somebody sent me a link to Gay Pornstar Harem this morning, and for a minute, I was sure I’d already reviewed the site. The original Hentai Heroes has been one of the most wildly popular online porn games in recent years, launching a slew of spinoffs like Pornstar Harem, Trans Pornstar Harem, and the site I was thinking of, Gay Harem. Turns out this new one is something ever so slightly different, adding a new wrinkle to the series that’ll help attract gay dudes who weren’t crazy about the anime imagery of the last outing. GayPornstarHarem.com honestly needs little introduction to fans of any of the earlier games. Boil it down it its essence and it’s basically the same formula, but with gay sex photos instead of manga girls or trans starlets. Having played a shitload of porn games, I’m not sure it falls easily into any single category, so I’d describe it as a free-to-play gay RPG with some visual novel elements. This is the newest installment in the series, living on a domain registered just a couple months ago, and I was one of the first in line to try it out.

Hey, This Seems Really Familiar…

If you’ve played any of the earlier Harem games, GayPornstarHarem is going to feel very familiar from the very moment that Adults Only warning screen pops up at the start. Agree to their terms and you’ll be faced with another familiar screen studded with recognizable icons and a Play button. The big difference is the introductory image; in lieu of an X-rated classroom hentai scene, we’re greeted by a photo of a cute guy baring his ass.

“Hey there, stud,” reads the comic-book text bubble. “I bet your sexy ass wants to know what is hidden under this blur… Cum into my hot game and you’ll find out!” I do, so I did. Once I clicked that Play button, I was led through a visual-novel-style pictorial narrative setting up the storyline. True to the title, GayPornstarHarem.com is chock-full of gay pornstars in all their photographic glory.

The very first image was a white dude going interracial with a BBC up his butthole. “It’s not easy for a common loser to become the hottest gay pornstar in the world,” our hero tells us as we’re treated to further explicit photos of this encounter. “It all started when I met my guardian angel…”

After the poolside butt sex, the music kicks in and the game interface pops up. There are a few different types of points to keep track of, but don’t worry, the learning curve is nice and easy here. The story begins in earnest with the narrator sitting at a computer working on his gay porn website, and we start spending points to advance the storyline.

Those points automatically refresh with time, and you may theoretically have to pay to reup if you’re moving too fast. That said, one thing I’ve loved about this series is that it’s much less aggressive than some of the competition about luring you to the payment page. If you’re taking your sweet time, Gay Pornstar Harem is legitimately free to play. “Free to play” can be an insidious and expensive trap, but that ain’t the case here.

I kept tapping the button to spend a point, moving each time to the next line of dialog and fresh pics. The cutie pie from the title screen is your guardian angel here, helping guide you through the ins and outs of building your own GayPornstarHarem. “Am I in heaven?” our narrator asks as a big dick gets sucked on the screen.

By this point I’d racked up enough experience to move along to Level 2, even though I hadn’t really done anything except look at all the gay porn they’d thrown at me. There’s cocksucking, dick-pulling, butthole fingering and salad tossing as the angel talks about his special abilities. “Now that you mention it, my ass does feel different. In a very good way.”

I made it to level four before GayPornstarHarem.com asked me to register an account. If you’ve already played one of these games, you can use the same account. After signing in, I clicked through just a few more screens of fucking and sucking before I was able to claim a reward: 100 points increasing my angel’s attraction to my own pretty self.

Those of you who play any type of free-to-play games will be familiar with these types of prizes, which can end up costing a lot of real money in some of the shittier “free” games. There are a few different Night-clubs (that’s how they spell it), which you’ll spend in-game currency to visit.

But first, I had a couple freebies to redeem. I cashed in my “1 Game Free” token for the Equipment Night-club, earning myself an instant dildo. My free play at the Great Night-club got me a “Charming loyal pet,” which is exactly the type of little fluffy doggo I associate with the most flaming of homosexuals. I was, however, a little disappointed the night-clubs were just prize boxes, not actual games to play.

After spending a few minutes experiencing the GayPornstarHarem nightlife, I made my way back to the home screen where my guardian angel was waiting for me. I like how they ease you into all the gameplay elements slowly, so you’re never overwhelmed or confused about what to do next. My angel introduced me to the titular Gay Pornstar Harem I’d been building. I only had two dudes so far, but they’d already brought me a stack of cash. Whoever said pimpin’ ain’t easy was wrong!

I got my first peek at my performer stats and their favorite positions, but my angel told me I’d need to add another guy to my harem before I could access the Season feature performances. Though I wasn’t even sure what that meant, it really motivated me to get another guy aboard the hump train.

Unlocking the World of GayPornstarHarem

You have even more options about what to do once the map gets unlocked, which happens right after meeting your Gay Pornstar Harem. I went back to that beach where I had my freaky encounter in the opening moments of the game, and yeah, I did some more freaky stuff while I was there. They never make it quite clear what kind of beach this is, but at no point did I hear any police sirens, so I think we’re in the clear.

After clicking through another big gay fuckfest at the beach, I got another 100 Attraction points for yet another dude. My man was stacking paper immediately, handing over a couple hundred bucks the moment he joined the gang. Hey, wait a minute: did he just pay me to fuck me? Did I just pimp out myself?

At this point, my guardian angel appeared on the screen to introduce me to yet another GayPornstarHarem element. Now that I had three dudes in my harem, I could play with the Seasons feature. This is a player-vs-player game that pits you against other players to win more of those prizes. I bet you weren’t expecting that, were you?

Every time I play one of these games, it’s pretty fucking easy to see why they’re so popular. GayPornstarHarem.com is no exception, as it’s got the same kind of easy-to-learn, addictive gameplay as its predecessors. The target demographic is obvious, too, making this an easy recommendation to gay gamers who like explicit photos of hot, dirty sex. At no point during my session today did I feel like I needed to bust out my credit to keep the game going, so it really is free-to-play.
